Water and Air
No sooner had I finished writing my last blog than news came in that an Iranian warship had been sunk by an American submarine off the coast of Sri Lanka - very much a manifestation of warlike Mars moving from an air sign (Aquarius) to a water sign (Pisces). The current spate of confusion and misunderstanding is likely to last at least until Mercury (currently retrograde) turns direct on 20 March and probably well into April. Expect a lot of words on Monday 9 March with Mercu

Sometimes Astrology Works...
The attack on Iran and the death of its Supreme Leader were right on cue - see recent blogposts but what comes next? First up is the Lunar Eclipse tomorrow (3 March) so expect tensions to remain high until then. Confused reports are likely to abound with Mercury retrograde and at its most confusing in Pisces where it stays until the middle of April. Mars moves from an air sign (Aquarius) to a water sign (Pisces) later today which may suggest the emphasis shifts from airborne

Mars on the Warpath?
Mars enters the sign of Pisces on 2 March but it may be the previous day which is more important when it is at 28 degrees of Aquarius - the same degree as the Solar Eclipse which occurred on 17 February. When a planet conjoins an eclipse degree it is often a trigger for an event which is of the nature of the planet itself. The Moon in Leo on 28 February and 1 March generates extra heat in addition to which is the Lunar Eclipse coming up on 3 March. This frequently coincides w

Making the Most of Retrograde Mercury
Mention the phrase "Retrograde Mercury" to anyone who has progressed beyond the sun sign columns of the newspaper and you will likely hear a groan of pain. Three times a year (or thereabouts) for around three weeks Mercury appears to be moving backwards in the sky due to an optical illusion similar to one train overtaking another train travelling at a similar speed. Mercury rules all forms of communication and works better when it is moving forwards rather than backwards so c

Saturn Changing Sign
Today (13 February) is the last day of Saturn in Pisces - almost continual rain in the UK since the beginning of the year so perhaps Saturn getting out of a water sign will bring a change in the weather... Saturn in Aries (for the next two years) suggests boundaries being pushed and falling down as well as a general lack of respect for authority. Establishing our individual responsibility may become more difficult and those in power may look increasingly unfit for the job.

The Solar Eclipse of 17 February 2026
Solar eclipses are often the bringers of bad news but sometimes the major events don't happen exactly on the date of the eclipse - instead it is the day when a planet passes over the degree at which the eclipse occurred. The solar eclipse on 17 February occurs at 28 degrees of Aquarius and Mercury hit this degree last Friday (6 February) while Venus is there today (9 February) - no wonder the political atmosphere in the UK is so charged at present. Another date to watch (apar

Hold Tight in February
The much anticipated conjunction of Saturn and Neptune comes on 20 February. These two planets were within a hair's breadth of each other in July 2025 but now they meet exactly and we wait to see what happens. There have been some very significant events when these two planets have been in conjunction in the past - it happens every 36 years. 23 September 1846 - Discovery of Neptune - 20 May 1882 - Triple Alliance formed between Austria-Hungary, Germany and Ital
